bring your plastic for this old school legend!.. it is very expensive especially the drink, but worth it when the chefs hit the high notes.. the decor is just about as it was in the 60's, so if you are lookin for the real deal, great food in a why change the look if it works environment you wont be disappointed.. dont touch the tiramisu.. its like a slice of sponge with cream .. at 50bux.. you may aswell blow it on the tip...

pizza is a religion!, no matter what you believe in otherwise, if a slice has ever passed your lips, then you have been baptized. in a town where you can find pizza on about 60% of all restaurant menus, be it a pizza joint, pub or fish restaurant, it says one things about capetonians, they. love. pizza. so with so many places to choose from, where is the best pizza in town?. here are my personal favorites, but perhaps some of you out there know of pizza hiding in the rough!. for a longtime i had bacinis on (kloof street) as my top dog in town, but you cant be a party pooper and not mix it up a little, so me and my pizza gang switched the sauce for a short stint frequenting Bardelli's (kenilworth). it's a cute place with open fires to keep you warm in the garden even on a winters night, it was great! until the summer menu popped its head and the prices rose dough high. our next pizza port was borruso's in kenilworth, where cape pizza mechanics hit an all time low, without being nasty, perhaps it was an off night but it was enough for it to be only a one night stand. the sluttiness continued the following weekend with another hi and bye at da vinci's (kloof street). col caccihos was up next, both camps bay and the CBD venues, good pizza, a little dry, if you are into the gourmet art of pizza decor then it wont disappoint. still not hands down winner.... until one midweek evening I ended up in relish (new church street), this is going back about a year or so, they had a special on of 2 pizzas and a bottle of wine for 120 bux!, the dough was by far the best in town, it wasn’t covered in toppings for the sake of toppings, the sauce was a sweet tangy bomb.. this was by far my most memorable pizza in cape town!... but i haven’t been back since, why?.. even though i hadn’t had a better dough, i think it was the anemic atmosphere the downstairs restaurant has, its far to impersonal for the punch their pizza packs. So if anyone knows of a pizza joint in town that satisfy the taste buds and make you want to set up camp in the bathrooms once closing time draws near, let me know!, my pizza platoon and I are ready for our next mission posted: 28.07.2009 login /
